Barometer & Altimeter Pro App Reviews

Just what I need!

Great barometer app! Simple and easy to use. I work outside and this is the first app I go to and is great for fishing indicating a low pressure. I think I will get the Pro version.

Powerful tool for tracking trends in pressure readings.

This app is a powerful tool that helps me to understand why my pain level increases when I havent done something myself to make it worse. I suffer the effects of 5 bilateral neuralgia, two of them being very rare and not any fun whatsoever. I would often times wonder why my pain level would increase without me doing any physical activity to explain it. My grandmother suggested that the increase may be related to changes in the barometric pressure. I tried several of the barometric pressure apps before I find found this one. The other apps are a pure waste of time! I love having the ability to track the trends and view them on a graph. I now have a valuable piece of information they had become an integral part of my treatment plan. When I see that the pressure is beginning to change, I now can take early measures so that my pain wont increase to the level where Im unable to do anything but sit on a recliner. I flew across the country last month and this app tracked the changes in altitude and pressure. Without knowing when we took off and landed, someone could look at the graph and see exactly when that was by the drastic changes in pressure. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank the developers for this app. GOD BLESS!

Joint Pain - very useful!!

I have been using this application, long time now. I have a chronic Arthritis due to a spine surgery. Reading I found that the pain that I suffer is related to the air pressure, thats when I thought that I need a barometer. Whenever the air pressure changes and I feel the pain, I just open the application and I see the spike. Very accurate. I keep track of every change. The guy who created the app, came from heaven!! Thank you!!!

Both Accuracy *and* Precision

Straight out, this app was only off by 2 millibars from an aneroid barometer, calibrated at local NWS station. Tweak difference in elevation and app is right on the money every time! Will be very useful (and safe) for outings to gulf coast during tropical storm / hurricane season. I also like how it matches Apples clock & pro version has > 1 scale.

Elegant, useful, mostly refined

A simple app with a lot of tweaks in the settings that Im still figuring out. The UI is what every app should be, and ad free no less! It is a bit jumpy when I reopen the app about my elevation and this tends to make spikes in my trend curves. However, this could be user error as Im not sure exactly what all the options should be set to. Still, this is the best barometer app Ive found and its very well done.

Awesome

I am a cancer survivor whos pain depends on the falling of the barometer, this app is great well thought out and works great every time. It helps me prepare for coming changes in pressure. I wish it had an alert for when the pressure falls and it would be perfect.

Awesome and can be even better!

Thanks developer for the best Barometer app in the App Store! The only one thing can make this app better - add custom "profiles" - locations. For example if user wants to track local historical pressure, in case of travelling graph will be "mixed". Feature of custom profiles will help in it.

Great App.

Just found and added this app. Seams to be very accurate with a lot of features. GREAT APP.!

Migraine Survival Tool

Ive had migraines all my life and changes in the barometric pressure are my first and biggest trigger. But: Ive never tracked the pressure to prove what I know so well. The first review I read said, "headache," in its title and I knew I had the right app. I havent used it very long (yet) but cannot wait to do so. Since moving from Southern California where my migraines were moderate at 1-2/week to Dallas where there is nothing to stop these weather patterns from moving in, Ive now spent 23 years with them ranging from 2-3/week to 5+/week. I was actually disabled from them at 43 due to all the ER visits, the morphine push IVs, and the recovery times; they just left me in the bed! Ill probably write another review if this app works as well as I think it will. Ive already bought the Pro version just ...because!

Corrected from earlier today

I live in Colorado Springs. The altitude is about 6400 ft. The app doesnt display the air pressure on the gauge because the scale doesnt go low enough. But it does display the pressure as a number on the face of the gauge and in the table below the gauge.

freezes

app freezes up when you try to change any of the settings. especially when it trys to get you to upgrade to the pro edition.

Perfect app! Very accurate and free! With the possibility to use the marker like a real barometer; very useful for any sailor or pilot. Thanks and kind regards!

Works great

So far the app has worked great. It looks good and when comparing the pressure to the current aviation pressure setting it seems very accurate!

Great

A great app with no ads. The only thing that I do not satisfied is the units dont have kpa. If you add that, five star is for you!

Retired Surveyor

Great app! I will find this very useful in my travels. This app is worth even paying for.

Good graphics, accurate so far

Nice graphics. Checked pressure against nearby airport report and it was very close. No ads. Its all good. Using iPhone 6 Plus.

Great!

Matches weather stations data very close. This is achieved by manual calibration (overriding gps and setting altitude manually) Thank you for the great free app.

Best

Best app Ive found for barometer readings from iPhones onboard sensor. Thoughtful and polished. Great app.

Great app but can use a couple more features

This is a great product. It should be a 5 Star, but they need to add a couple more features first. Ive tried quite a few barometric apps now and this one is the best that Ive found so far. The best feature is the ability to export the log file data. However, keep reading and I will comment on how this should be enhanced. One thing that they can do to enhance this product is to leverage the native background refresh function in iOS to grab continual data when the application is not open (even though background refresh doesnt sample continuously, its still better than no data). The help file states that they intend to enable this option in the future release. Another very cool thing they should do to enhance this product, is to enable us to add a note any time we open the application and store the note with the data point in the log file. This would enable lots of people who have physical problems that fluctuate with barometric pressure (Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, MS, Osteoarthritis, etc.) to track what medication they take and how they feel and map that to specific data points in the log file in real time. This could become a great medical app to help patients provide real data to their doctors. Other than that, the app works extremely well. Lots of potential. I just hope the developers follow through and keep enhancing the product instead of releasing one version then let go off on something new and never come back again to keep building on a good thing.

Best in class

I am so pleased with this app. Great features and great appearance. Well done!
